Thomas, me lad... Omaha is totally feasible IF the Omaha relations are willing to put folks up.

The same financial restrictions that the Omaha folks have stated about going west apply to the westerners going east. (or us going anywhere).

My personal first choice for a reunion would be in Omaha. Second choice still isn't Fort Robinson.

Family Picnic out in California today. Let's see what the folks out there have to say later on...

In the meantime, I saved some CD's for ya. I'll get 'em in the mail on Monday! :)

Tim, I don't know why Omaha is not that feasable. The new hotels dow town would be reasonable. I think they would be around $100 a night for rooms at the most. There would be some of us willing toput up people. Barb and I could handle two couples. We don't have much for kids but we are also 60. We would really like to as the Irish say " have a go at it".

Margie already responded for us, but wanted to add a few comments - don't want her to get the last word.
First - I wish she used a phrase other than "we're sorry to be so wishy washy" and picked something more professsional like "we can't make a decision until all factors have been considered".... but... ok... we're wishy washy.
Seriously - our leaning is to Omaha or to a group site somewhere between Neb and Cal (but not Ft. Robinson). We'll do our best to make it (at least Margie and I).
Finally - Tim, I wanted to echo Margie's comment regarding our appreciation for the work you and others have put into this. No matter the end result, thank you.

Kevin & I like the Omaha option, however we can't commit to attending until Octoberish - they're voting on closing a school in our district for next year, and it will probably be the one I work at, so until they announce it and let us know what the game plan is, I can't finalize any vacation plans for a few months. We're sorry to be so wishy washy, and thank you Tim from the bottom of our hearts for all the work you have put into this. We will keep checking your website, and will hope for the best.

I'm with ya, Tom! I think a reunion in Omaha would be perfect. Fort Robinson's easy to get to from Omaha, but it sure as hell ain't from anywhere else!

We would have to fly into Denver and rent a car and then drive for 300 miles.

I understand how reasonable Fort Robinson sounds for someone in Nebraska, but it's not cheap coming in from anywhere else.

The beauty of Omaha IS seeing the house where grandpa made beer during prohibition, I'd love to see where Grandma grew up (3026 Charles Street) or at least lived there during the 1910 census!

And really, if enough folks opened their homes, lodging would be next to nothing - and there could be a payback in California in a few years! (Please note how generous I am with other people's homes - I live in Pennsylvania!)

Keep voting!

Hey guys, We can throw a great party herein Omaha. I think you would all be surprised. We are already talking about the possibilities. Would anyone like to see the house our parents grew up in and made beer for the neighbors during the prohibition days. That is just a start. We have several good ideas and haven't even talked to any siblings yet. I guarantee a good time. there are several new and reasonable hotels downtown. One has a waterpark for the kids.

That is a great compromise and now it is just a matter of Fort Robinson or Omaha. I still vote for Fort Robinson because I think it is the only place that we will ever find that will be able to accomodate EVERYONE that will be there. Also, traveling there was part of the fun in addition to the recreational activities that they have all within walking distance. Regardless though Chris and I will be able to attend either place and really look forward to it!!

What a great compromise.....Tahoe would have been nice, but thanks to Tom and Barb for thinking of Omaha. Will be happy to help them and be a part of the Omaha hosting crowd...Maybe I could even get more of our kids to come. Love the website Tim.....Thanks.
